See: Ravindra Jadeja called ‘Pathaan’ by teammates; Dinesh Karthik, Harsha Bhogle Drop witty comments on air | Cricket news

Hello friends, Lets Talk about

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Friday (February 17) reached a major landmark in Test cricket when he dismissed a well-rounded Usman Khawaja for 81 in the ongoing second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023. With that wicket, Jadeja completed 250 Test wickets, which is a huge achievement for any all-rounder. But that wasn’t the only reason why Jadeja grabbed the headlines on Friday. On the opening day of the Delhi Test, Jadeja also received a new nickname from his India teammates. During one of his spells, one of his teammates was heard shouting ‘Chal chal Pathaan’. Pathaan is a Shah Rukh Khan starrer Bollywood box-buster breaking all previous Box Office records.

On hearing the word, Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik was quick to throw in a witty comment when he said, “I feel Jadeja’s hairstyle is inspired by Pathaan.” To this, co-commentator Harsha Bhogle replied, “You have to have options”. All the commentators, including Matthew Hayden, started to have a big laugh. Bhogle took a dig at himself and Hayden due to the lack of hair on their scalps. Karthik, especially, could be heard having fun with that Bhogle one-liner.

Pathaan is also Shah Rukh’s comeback film, his first in the last 6 years. The title track from the movie ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’ has already become a chart hit and at the end of the Nagpur Test, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja were seen shaking their legs to the song.

Jadeja has had a phenomenal series. Jadeja also made a comeback on the international stage, as did Pathaan on screen. He had not played a Test for the last 6 months and in Nagpur he took a five-fer and also hit a fifty to help India win the match.
