Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw’s video of getting into a brawl with fans is going viral on social media. The reports suggest that Shaw got into a fight with two people who allegedly asked him for a selfie, and when he refused them, things got ugly. The Mumbai police have registered a complaint against eight people, one of whom has been identified as Sapna Gill.

Shaw was attacked by Sapna along with her friend in Santa Cruz area, Mumbai. Sapna Gill is a social media influencer and actress who has worked in Bhojpuri cinema with industry superstars like Ravi Kishan and Dinesh Lal Yadav. She has over 2 lakh followers on Instagram and was born in Chandigarh. Sapna often shares content which includes dance reels, fashion pictures and more on social media platforms. She has acted in films like ‘Kashi Amarnath’, ‘Nirhua Chalal London’ and most recently ‘Mera Watan’ which released in 2021.


What happened?

It is being reported that Gill and her friends asked Prithvi Shaw for a selfie. After a while, Shaw did not oblige, and a security guard at the scene asked Gill and her friends to leave, according to police. The incident took place at a five-star hotel and later, when Shaw was leaving the property, he was chased down by Sapna and her friend along with some other people.

Shaw, who was traveling with his friend, was intercepted at a traffic signal near Oshiwara. They also demanded Rs 50,000 and threatened to file a false police case. Shaw was also manipulated by Gill. The cricketer was shifted to another car while Yadav and others drove his vehicle to Oshiwara. Yadav observed that three motorcycles and a white colored car were chasing their vehicle. At 4am, the chasers attacked his car as it took a U-turn near a petrol pump on Link Road. Thakur was one of the persons who chased the vehicle and attacked its windshield with a bat.

The six people on motorcycles along with Gill and Thakur, who were both sitting in a car, abused Yadav and his friends. After this, Yadav took the car to Oshiwara police station. Thakur, who was one of them, broke the rear window of the car with a baseball bat. The eight accused followed Yadav to the station and threatened him to pay Rs 50,000 to solve the problem or else she would lodge a false police complaint against them, according to the police. Following this, Yadav filed a complaint against the accused. Oshiwara Police registered a case under sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 148 (rioting), 384 (extortion), 506 (criminal intimidation) and others of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) based on the complaint.
